Antonio Biasiucci

Il filo di Arianna, 1983/85
The beginning, at the age of 18, without an identity and the privilege of owning a camera and turn it into a tool for answering adolescent complex. Il filo di Arianna is the attempt to recover the thread of life revisiting through photography those signs, those places rejected in life. It is the beginning of the reconstruction of myself looking for some truth to which to anchor. But first of all it is the awareness of the ‘gift’ of photography which has to be protected and guarded because it is clear to me that that is my place in the world.

Impasto, 1989/91
“The laboratory of Neiwiller is the incentive to tickle the internal strings of thought and emotion, so that they become pure and stripped epiphanies” (Leo De Berardinis)
Impasto is the systematic and substantial application of theater director’s, Antonio Neiwiller, laboratory.
The dough tub is what I inherited from my mother, who made bread, and it becomes the naked and open place through photography. It is also the time of the awareness of a rediscovered memory and the ambition of knowing that of the Man, who does ‘laboratory’, and those essential subjects that belong to it.

Antonio Biasiucci was born in Dragoni, in the province of Caserta, in 1961.
